This workshop is writing intensive wherein participants will craft poems using various prompts and samples provided. It's all about UNLOCKING THE PEN, opening the gates, and letting loose those creative creatures we all have locked up inside ourselves! There is a $15 workshop fee ($20 after August 31st). To register send check or money order to The Village Bookshoppe. Include name and contact information. *Class size is limited. Please register early.

Yolanda Coulaz is a poet, photographer, editor, and founder of Purple Sage Press. She teaches poetry writing workshops to middle and high school students throughout Long Island and is coordinator and host of the Farmingdale Library Poetry Series. She has won numerous awards and has been published in newspapers, magazines and anthologies including Flutter, Long Island Quarterly, The Long Islander, Xanadu, The Lyric, New Verse News, Soul Fountain, North Shore Woman's Newspaper, Long Island Sounds, Voices Israel, Songs of Seasoned Women, and the PPA Literary Review. Her poem "Aftershock" was included in an anthology entitled Echoes from the Heart: an Anthology of Poetry for Peace/from 9.11 to Infinity. Coulaz edited and published the anthology For Loving Precious Beast to help benefit Loving Touch Animal Rescue.
