THINK JOURNAL Now Accepts Email Submissions

THINK JOURNAL, logo with address
THINK JOURNAL is a quartely review of poetry, short stories, novel excerpts, and essays.

Submissions are welcome from rational thinkers who believe that words have meaning, and that when you deal with words, you are dealing with the mind. This journal is for those who Think. In order to do this, one must first have an I. The basic literary values that will be considered are: content and meaning; words that are logically conceived and arranged; evidence of an active imagination; structure; as well as the integration of emotional and intellectual facets. The central criterion for acceptance is merit, which will be judged based on two aspects: content and literary artistry.

"As the name might suggest, the poetry is formal, metered and carefully thought out, often dealing with classical or philosophical themes. The essays support the editorial stance. Yet the fiction (one story, one Chapter 1) is more slice-of-life."--Think Journal 1.1 Review in Iconoclast #101

HEROIN LOVE SONGS: Call for XX Chromosome Edition - Deadline July 1

Heroin Love Songs: Call for XX Chromosome Edition - Deadline July 1

Specific Submission Request to the Homogametic SexShare

Definition: The XY sex-determination system is the sex-determination system found in humans, most other mammals, some insects (Drosophila) and some plants (Ginkgo). In this system, females have two of the same kind of sex chromosome (XX), and are called the homogametic sex. Males have two distinct sex chromosomes (XY), and are called the heterogametic sex.

Idea: Based on a conversation I had on the radio the other day I thought it would be interesting to have an all-female, XX chromosome edition of the underread, never immitated, generally ignored HEROIN LOVE SONGS. What I am looking for is hard hitting, completely honest, fearless to a fault writing on any topic, theme, subject, idea, or concept. There are no limits on language, structure, style, devision, presentation and whatnot. And all from the female POV.

Submission:

Poem: 3-5 EMBEDDED into an email to jackhenry951@hotmail.com. Make sure I can tell when one poem ends and the next one begins. This seems to confuse people.

Prose: Short fiction is better, no more than 2-3 per submission. Same email address. Still embedded.

Other: If there is an "other" and it is good, send it. Same email address. Still embedded.

NO simultaneous submissions
NO previously published work

Deadline: July 1, 2009

So pass it along to anyone you think might be interested. I will present it as a hardcopy, a PDF download and an e-book.

Publication date: August 1, 2009 (Hopefully)

Cheers

any questions or thoughts send them to the email above.
